Sky adsl llu to fibre upgrade question

I have possibly a really stupid question that I was hoping someone could help me with. I have tried Google but cant seem to find a basic guide that is basic enough.

Fibre has been turned on in my town today and I desperately need to get it ordered, speed! bigger number! etc. I am unfamiliar with the upgrade process as prior to it becoming available I have not been interested.

Currently with Sky on LLU connection with phone and unlimited broadband for the last 5 years but really want to leave Sky as ever since the work on Fibre started my connection has gone from 12mbps to 7mbps - I think its a cynical tactic to get me ready to upgrade - It worked.

Fancy the 76Mbps deal on Plusnet (think I have just missed a good cashback deal but c'est la vie) My question is what is the process, got to the stage of placing the order on the plusnet website but do I need to get a MAC or at least ring Sky and cancel or will plusnet do that for me? Thanks

Have they upgraded you local box though?

1st thing to check is that your local box has been upgraded. My box was one of the 1st in this area. But my wifes friend only lives around the corner and on a different box which has not been upgraded.

You have to phone sky to get the MAC code PlusNet wont be able to do that for you.

As above, availability is dependent on your local street cab being upgraded-they won't have 'turned the whole town on' at once.
