lofy it looks like your are looking at the online deal of 120m + 250txt for £25 a month? if so this cant be used with student deal! you can get the 120 minutes for £25 a month (you dont get the extra 6months free calls) but you do get the 1000 free txt a month. Also if you buy in store you will get £100 free credit (via trading in an old phone, and saying someone reccommended you!).
Also you cant change tarrif after 6 months as you will lose your free txt messages! If wanted you can take out the student deal on £15 a month contract (only 30 minutes of calls), but you also dont get the free £100 credit!0 -
I believe that if you sign up online you actually receive 1250 texts per month (250 for signing up online and 1000 for being a student).
The Orange premier deal looks to be a good one to combine with the student offer if you are a heavy user and will be the one I personally will be going for...
If signing up for a 3G phone on Orange, you get:
600 any network minutes
£10 messaging bundle (e.g. 40 photo messages unless u manage to send more than 1000 texts)
1000 texts
1000 Mb data bundle (first 3 months only)
60 minutes video calling (first 3 months only)
Orange Care (normally £5 a month)
for £40 per month for the first 6 months and £55 thereafter.
If you also take into account the recommend a friend (£50 and £25) and trade-in deal (£50) this line rental equates to:
((£40 X 6 + £55 X 6) - £125) / 12 = £37.08 per month.
If you offset the cost of the most valuable 'free' phones (£300+) available on this tariff, the overall cost of the deal is approximately £10 per month.0 -
Yeah you can receive 1250 texts by signing up on line. I went for the £30 package to get an extra 100 mins.
The student package is for the following:
Your Plan 30 to 400 Any Network Anytime
Your Plan 45 to 600 Orange to Orange Anytime
Any Network off-peak tariff
I'm not sure if you can have the Orange Premier package with it, I wouldn't think you would.
Lastly, you can downgrade your package after 6 months without loss of your student package if you choose one of the above packages (so no OVP). Also adding something like a Talkshare plan will result in a loss of your student package.0 -
No wonder students leave college with so much debt. I am working and wouldn't pay that much for a mobile deal.
