How are you finding ebay at the moment?

I am going to keep going as long as possible but no longer taking risks, just sticking to the lines I know work.
Frustrated with how many sellers with the same goods as me who have not registered as business sellers!0 -

This is why so many sellers stick with eBay. The whole idea of selling is to get the most you can for your goods, unfortunately for many of us that is eBay. I do have lines listed elsewhere and at a much lower price just to generate some interest , and for places like Ebid even at virtually give away prices I can't sell a thing. Those same items sell well on eBay.I am going to keep going as long as possible but no longer taking risks, just sticking to the lines I know work.

I agree, although many of my competitors have now disappeared or been restricted due to stars , buyers seem to treat these 'private' sellers quite harshly.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As a buyer I agree.
They keep sending me vouchers to get me buying again but the categories I'm interested in seem to be dominated by very expensive US based sellers using the Global Shipping Program, or items that are mis-categories. I need to scroll through 8 to 10 pages just to find a UK seller and an item that is actually in the right category! Life is too short, even if Ebay seem to want to pay me to buy on there at the moment..!
For me there are also too many big name businesses on it, and if I want to buy from Tesco or Argos, I'd buy directly from them, not via Ebay.0 -
At the moment, unless you're the cheapest, you won't sell anything, it's a bit of a race to the bottom at the moment.
Not just on ebay either, online and b&m are the same cut-throat world."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I finding with the collectible ish items I sell that you have to pique their interest then after quite a while drop to . 99p,to start the bidding war.
There's no quick route to selling for me.0 -

B&M? Bricks & Mortar - a real shop.
I agree, everything I list there is another seller undercutting me. I am getting disheartened at the moment. Nothing today but I have closed the shop for a holiday so maybe this is why.
I have noticed something though, last week I ended and relisted some items a little cheaper. I had an influx of sales. So end GTC a few days before they run out, change the price by 20p or something and then relist it. Turbo Lister makes this easy but I get some people do not like it.0 -
Private sales though - absolutely dreadful!!! I cannot even be bothered anymore, I have some Sylvanians to get on tomorrow, and some instruments, but I am getting everything together to go to the car boot sale. I think eBay is dying a death for what it was originally intended.
I tried to find a laptop battery today and could not find a single seller of the 900+ batteries that were not from either China or Hong Kong. I bought a 2nd hand one instead.
I also think they are making it very hard to find things, trying to get through the menu's is as bad as calling BT, going through all the options.... I know how to get to the shortcuts but wonder how many other people do.0 -
I do wonder if it's because a search shows best match rather than the time ending soonest or cheapest first which are the two main options that i use.
Manipulating searches bugs the hell out of me. I have noticed tonight that they have changed the damn layout again.
