I want to uprgade an Athlon system with 2Gb of SDRAM (DDR). Does anyone have any recommendation for decent-priced suppliers in the UK?

I would compare prices at ebuyer, microdirect and novatech...

    www.ebuyer.com
    www.microdirect.co.uk
    www.novatech.co.uk

    also add:

    Komplett
    & Scan

Komplett tend to be good for ram prices and have a widerange - although SDRAM is on the decline, much like how RDRAM has disappeared, so I'd get some now if you intend on upgrading because it won't be around much longer.
Faith is believing what you know ain't so...

Not strictly true, it seems - I've just ordered 2Gb of Crucial memory from eBuyer for £74 (delivered). The price from Crucial was £80 (for exactly the same memory).

I noticed the word DDR (not DDR2), so I'm assuming it's PC2700/3200 modules you're looking for? But 2Gb? Maybe not.

Anyway, if yes, then eBay would be the cheapest - a search for compatible, branded* (non-generic) RAM.

Best to avoid the 'high density' variety - an example of this. It's mentioned in the description, but some are not as easy to spot (ask here if you're in doubt before bidding/purchasing). G

    * I've included in the search: Corsair, OCZ, Kingston, Micron, HP, GeIl, Patriot, Crucial, Rendition, Mushkin, PNY, Samsung, Infineon, Nanya, Hynix

Crucial offer 7% cashback too and their delivery is usually free.
