Huzzah! Welcome to your first steps to become debt-free. This forum has proven invaluable to me, so stick around.
If you wouldn't mind, letting us know what kind of debt you're in, and what CAP have arranged for you?0 -

Thanks for your reply, my debts are
credit card £2,000
overdraft £1060.00
Loan £4,000
I pay a lump sum to CAP every week to pay these creditors.
And they give me a budget for week/month.
Started ebaying some stuff, and enquired about betterware.

Yeah eBay's a great tool, but so is Gumtree. You have to just weigh up the costs that eBay imposes, which are really high tbh, against factors like interest in an item.
E.g. if you have an iPhone for sale, then its a popular item which sticking on gumtree you're probably more likely to get more profit out of the sale, but then again you are also likely to be haggled down by cheap scapes, AND you dont have the benefit of showing your item to the whole world as a market to increase your chances of higher bids.
It's a real give and take.. Recently I've been, at any possible opportunity, opting for listing on Amazon (items that already exist in the catalogue, you can list your own on there), as it is very simple and most of the time I find the fees competitive to eBay, they are at least a lot clearer, and is taken instantly from your profits rather than getting an unexpected bill at the end of the next month! (its a total !!!!!! sometimes)
Alongside that, you can list on Gumtree at the same time, as these are not auctions (you could list on eBay too on a BuyItNow, but be aware most people on eBay are there to bid on items to try and get a bargain, eBay is brilliant for buying stuff for this reason but not so great to sell on these days due to the fees).
Then whenever you get the best deal on one of these platforms you can just end the other ads.
Maximising exposure can be very beneficial!0
