Lost Replacement Season Ticket

Hi All,

Just wanting some ideas on what I can do....

I lost my replacement season ticket while out and about in London. The ticket is £3256! so yes I should take more care but as it is a bit of paper that has to be used in machines around 8 times a day, the chances of it missing my pocket are quite high.

I have spoken to southern rail and they and said that they cant replace again unless I was involved in a robbery or fire.

I cant get a refund on the remaining money as I need to hand over a ticket for them to give me a refund.

Therefore I will have to pay £1184 as I took a interest free loan from my work (£296 per month out of my salary) plus pay £321 per month to get to work.

So I throw it out to the good people of MSE to come up with a plan....

Thanks,

    Thanks,

Your only hope is that it get found and is with either the TOCs property department or the ticket office which issued the ticket.

The TOC I work for are very strict on the rules of duplicates and would never reissue again in a case like this unfortunately, also the National Rail conditions of carriage backs them as these are skewed heavily in the favour of the the private train company
  • See if your home contents insurance will cover it.

Isn't it obvious, as the rail companies will only replace one lost ticket, but (to quote from the NCOC) will replace twice in the case of "theft, robbery, fire or other exceptional circumstances", then you never ever lose your season ticket, but any missing season ticket must have been stolen (lots of pickpockets on trains) and obviously reported as such.
