Infection in tooth gone away?

Hi

My daughter had a fall a few weeks ago and affectred her tooth. We had some xrays taken at the hospital which showed some shadows on a tooth and an infection.

We were advised to take the tooth out and also given antobiotics.

We had the tooth taken out but the consultant who took it out said he did not see any infection. Is it possible that the infection went away and we could have kept the tooth in and not had the surgery?

Much too little to go on here.

Would need to see x-rays, know condition of tooth, know age & dental history of daughter, know which tooth, know how it was damaged,........All sorts of things.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
