Have I paid PPI?

Hi

I may well have had some PPI's and other bank charges that I could reclaim but can't remember as it would have been a while back.

I've been with TSB for about 40yrs now and had stayed with them
when they moved my accounts over when they merged with Lloyds then back again to when they reverted back to TSB. How do I find out if I had been mis-sold anything as I dont have the relevant statements from both banks going back that far; would they actually tell me if I simply phone up and ask them? Is there a time limit on how far back they will repay?

You dont. If you feel you were mis-sold then you make a complaint and give your reasons for the complaint.

If you ask them if you were mis-sold anything then no as its too wide a question. However, if you asked them if you had PPI then they would be able to answer that. Although that only tells you if you had it or not. You would still need to decide if you have a reason for complaint or not.

Is there a time limit on how far back they will repay?

If your complaint is successful, they will return what was paid for the period it can be proven it was paid. In most cases that it all the premiums paid. Although for old cases, it can be hard to prove payment.
