Planning to get our new home completely carpeted in something beige.
Just wondering if anyone has any links to good quality carpet that's not too expensive! (perhaps an ebay retailer)
Thanks very much guys!

We've decided on Victoria heartland for our stairs, its manmade which I thought I would never have but it looks like wool. Bleach cleanable and stain resistant. Best price was on flooring megastore. Depends what your budget is?
I have also read that lots is seconds are sold on eBay0 -
If price really is an issue, then a manmade will be preferable to a very cheap wool carpet. Brands to consider would be Cormar, Victoria or Associated Weavers.
Cormar are a bit of a success story and they have ranges such as Primo and Apollo which are tough to go wrong with. Your local independent store would be able to help you out.0 -
I can't suggest suppliers but I would make these points.
The same carpet throughout a house can look very good but can also look boring after a while. Maybe consider a few different colours for some rooms.
Beige is a good colour as it will go with most other colour schemes but do consider a beige with some kind of fleck or slight pattern that will help to better disguise marks and stains etc.
Our ten year old house, which we bought three years ago, has plain beige carpet throughout, probably the original carpets. It is still in excellent condition and looks nice but it does show up dirt and stains more than a slight pattern would. Fortunately there are only two of us with no pets and we have a Vax cleaner that we use when required. If you have or plan to have small children or dogs, you need to think carefully.
Mrs A finds the same carpet throughout the house a bit boring and is keen to change one or two of them for a different colour sometime.
Good luck with your new home.0 -
I also wouldn't want beige all the way through. Agree that ones with flecks hide marks much better and also look more interesting overall. Have liked ones with twist in the title .0

40 oz wool mix twist, not pure wool.
Had mine 10 yrs, good quality from carpetwise in sale, price point down to £24-27 per m.
trust me I did research and didnt get ripped off, I identified their carpets as the same, made by cormar etc under different but similar names.0
