If it is only happening with the bath taps could it possibly be that the flow is too great?

Does the same thing happen if you only have the tap half open?

    Just a thought

Because I'm guessing it's not a Warentee issue & therefore the OP is likely to get charged by WB

What else could be at fault other than the boiler? (Genuine interest, not a dig)

Why not ring the person/company that did the installation? Their details will be in the service record/handbook.
  • Thanks for all the replies to my original post.

I have more info following everyone's advice...

The boiler remains lit constantly while the taps are on and fires correctly when there is demand at the tap. The flow of water makes no difference and if the tap is only half on, it still turns lukewarm in about 30 seconds.

The oddest thing is if you are running the bath (or sink) tap and the hot has turned lukewarm and then also turn the shower on at the same time, the shower water is hot as always but the bath tap water also becomes scolding hot!

Hopefully that makes it much easier to diagnose!

In answer to why bother posting instead of calling someone out on warrantee -
    1. I moved in after the boiler was a year-old and can't find any evidence of the 1st year check which makes the warrantee void if it hasn't been done.
    2. If it is a common problem then someone might already have found a solution (and if it's not a common problem it lets others know there is one in case they have the same)
    3. I like to get an idea of possible problems / solutions before calling someone out
    4. I'm a man and always like to know the answer myself before asking someone in to fix it ;) same at the Dr!!

    Thanks again for the replies.

When I registered mine with Worcester Bosch, I had to give details of serial number, fitter and my address, so WB may have details, if you enquire. ie The original fitter may have done a service, so tracing him may help.
