Spots of rust on newish freezer.

Hi folks, can anyone advise me please on this?
Adjoining the draining area of my worktop I have a 6ft tall freezer. It's only a year old but already it's got random spots of rust and also rust-filled scratches all over the side that abuts the worktop. It now looks very ugly and is set to get worse.
So, I am thinking ... should I try to clean the rust off with something, or is there something you can buy that you paint onto "white goods" to cover rust, or must I resort to buying something like Fablon stick on sheet of vinyl to disguise it?
Thanks

Clean all the rust off - make sure you get it all - then dry it thoroughly and touch it up with white enamel paint. You could treat it first with Kurust ( this is usually used on cars, but your freezer is metal so no difference ). This should do the trick.0

Yes, pretty much. You can buy it at B&Q, Homebase, whatever. But if you only need a very small amount ( and I suspect you do ), then it's probably cheaper to find a modelling / hobby shop and buy just a tiny little tin, like what we used to use for Airfix kits and suchlike in the good old days ( It's not enamel that we used on airfix, but people used to use it for model die-cast cars, toy soldiers, that kind of thing. I think they even used it on Dungeons & Dragons playing pieces ).0

Remove the rust first-don't paint over it, it will just come back through.
Most of the sheds sell aerosols of enamel touch-up paint. Just get the right colour-there are dozens of shades of white. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
