Prepaid debit card for children
Billers
Has anybody looked at or used Osper (can't post links but searching that would give you the site)?
It is a prepaid debit card along with balance management app for 8-18 year olds, to help them get used to the freedom and responsibility of their own accounts. I think the idea looks good and was thinking of signing up for my kids but would be interested to hear other people's experiences.

Can you buy Spam with it?0

Probably. You can probably pay for cynicism counselling as well :-)
I did worry that it would look like a marketing message, especially coming from a newbie, but it is a genuine question.0 -
I like the look of that a lot. My only hesitation would be if shops would query a younger child was using a debit card. My daughter, knowing her character, would be mortified to have to explain herself.0

Have they stopped child bank accounts? It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
My daughter has a bank account with a debit card and can't go overdrawn.
I don't really see the difference?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
My daughter had a Natwest account with a debit card from 11. No difference to a prepaid card.0

I think with osper they can manage their account on an android phone or something. So they can see what they have spent, budget etc..
Natwest offer online account management for accounts held by 11 year olds and older - my DS has one too.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180
