Decrease available balances?

Hey all,

All financially aware savy money saving experts please read and advise!!

I now have four credit cards, all for different things.

The last card I applied for was an egg card, who gave me a misley limit. Doesnt matter too much because I will put it in positive balance if I need to spend more on it

what I was wondering is what is everyones opinions on decreasing their available credit? Ive heard differeing views, and certainly from my experience with overdraft it is quite the contrary.

My available credit:

Credit Card 1- £3,150 (pay off in full)
Credit Card 2- £4,000 (current balance £490.00- 0% deal- paying off next month)
Credit Card 3- £3,400 (pay off in full)
Credit Card 4- £500! (awaiting- will pay off in full)

Overdraft 1- £1,000 (very rairly overdrawn, never for more than one day)
Overdraft 2- £200 (very rairly overdrawn, never for more than one day)

The last 2 applications were made within only 1 month of each other, is this the reason why they are so cautious?
Maybee its because I have the balance still on my card 2.

I have heard that egg are very strict with their lending criteria?

Please advise....

Cheers
