Sick of Virgin - Force Majure? Please help!
Hi everyone and happy Monday!
I have been with Virgin Mobile for about 18mths, the first 6 mths were fine but honestly, every month since June 2013 I have been overcharged and every month I spend 30-90 minutes going through the painful process of Indian call centres (all lovely people but powerless and not their fault) correcting it as I am on an Unlimited package but they keep charging for data and services I haven't asked for.
This month, after they reinstated my DD without my permission at a bank I no longer use (I cancelled because I am fed up with the wrong amount being taken) I got 3 letters from my old bank via my old address that I will be charged 3 x £10 ..plus Virgin charged me for the failed DD!
I used to respect Richard Branson but now I hear Virgin pay ZERO corporation tax so when I see or hear him playing the Union Jack/ Great Britain card, I want to punch his face in.
I am told I cannot leave my contract for another 6 mths, unless I pay them £250.
In the USA, a company called Ting has broken the mold: If the customer wants to leave, they can leave. No charge.
Someone told me I can use "Force Majure" (legal term) as reason for terminating my contract due to unreasonable behaviour.
Can anyone advise on this as obviously Virgin deny this.
Thank you for reading, have a great day

Some of your post doesn't make sense, if an account is closed then no transactions can be made to or from it.
Anyways cancelling the DD just puts a default marker against your name.
Ask this 'someone' about the reason for terminating.0 -
Hi, sorry about that I made a mistake..not closes, just not in use and I did tell them my new bank details.
Someone: I no longer see them, but they were a paralegal and they said that it's unreasonable behaviour, not exactly breach of contract as they have that all stitched up, but as I have been complaining for 12 months now it could be a good enough reason.
Thanks for reading and replying0 -
Try one of the VM UK call centres or use pen and paper and write to head office stating the problem only not all the other junk .0

Maybe you should ask "someone" to explain to you what Force majeure actually means, it seems as if you are just using a phrase you don't actually know the meaning of.
If "someone" can't explain, you can start at:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Force_majeure
And no, you can't use it just because you think Virgin aren't doing a good enough job with your billing.====0
