I am just trying to list a heavy book - well over 1kg. It will cost me £3.80 RM or similar via Myhermes. When entering £4.20 for postage, it doesn't allow me to do so and is restricting me to £2.75. Am I missing something here? What is the best way round this?
Not very keen on including it in item price and offering free P&P as the books I am listing are similar and very often people buy more than one and want postage combined.

You are not missing anything, some categories have restricted postage.

All you can do is add the difference onto your start price.

Thanks soolin. This must be a recent change as I have listed heavy books before and managed my own amount for postage then. Guess I will have to add it to the item price and offer free P&P

The only change is that the limit was raised a while ago- previously it was no postage on books, then a lower limit.

Some categories of books do have a slightly different rate though, so if your book could easily go into a different book category it is worth just having a quick look.

Thank you very much soolin. I have just found out that the category that I was listing under (text book, education) had a limit of £2.75. I have just changed the category and have managed to put in my own figure.
