Trying to find best shower head size(for attachment)

2 things here, I moved to a flat that had a shower but no hose or head so bought cheap ones from pound shop, they work fine however the base is a little too thick for the old mount and I have no tools to drill holes into wall for new attachment.
Also current attachment seems to be a bit messed up since it seems to fall off due to the pole being a tiny bit too small so if you lock it onto the bottom part theres a gap at top, same for top making gap at bottom
Either I can buy a new head, or a attachment for the pole but either way I still have to fix the pole.
Just wanted some advice on this.
