12 month Career Break

Hello,
Long time listener...
Sorry, I'm not convinced this is the correct board but here goes.
I am about to embark on a 12 month career break - travel, volunteer, family time etc. My last day of paid employment (full time for last 7 years) is 30 July 2014. I won't be earning again until 1 August 2015. Does this mean I am entitled to tax credits/tax refund or other from HMRC? If so how, when, what, why?
Thanks in advance,
Laura

The best thing to do is to contact them by letter and inform them of your plans (keep a copy and ring a week later to check they have received it). They will sort everything out.0
