Is it going to happen?? I believe the actual license has still not been granted and the GAA (Get Away with Anything) have gone against an agreement made with local residents dating back to when Croke Park was re-developed that they would only have 3 concerts a year.. Locals are up in arms as the area gets "locked down" during these concerts and they cannot leave or enter the area very easily. They have to be issued with special passes and at times cannot use their cars at all due to the roads being closed. I'm sure 1 day is inconvenient but multiple in a row is just too much of an inconvenience. GAA top brass are sticking their arrogant heads in the sand and not making much of an effort to talk to the residents and the residents have still not ruled out court action !! And they wonder why the locals in West Belfast have such an issue with the redevelopment of Casement Park !!0

Still no Licence granted.....

Oh dear, that could be a LOT of re-funds !! Seems the "Untouchables" at the top of the GAA may have met their match...0 -
So are the concerts still going ahead? Heard rumours that the first three nights are safe but the Mon & Tues may be cancelled. They were to release some news about it yesterday evening but heard nothing more since then?0

Depends I suppose what the GAA is wiling to "Give" the local residents as compensation for their inconvenience !!0 -

Looks like you could be right - not sure how reliable thejournal.ie is but they're just added an article to their website saying only 3 concerts have been approved. They haven't confirmed which 3 are going ahead yet:

More to follow this afternoon it seems
EDIT: I see they mention moving some of the concerts to the Aviva - I can't see the capacity being anywhere near that of croke park (less seats, smaller pitch)0 -

GAA shouldn't have reneged on promises made to the residents at the time of Croke Park's re-development..... They have had enough of the gridlock in their area during these things. Bad enough during the big matches..... Any wonder the residents of West Belfast don't trust them with the re-development of Casement Park !!....0 -

Couldn't agree more - think the promise was a maximum of 3 concerts per year and they've had 3 there this year already.
The touts with weekend tickets will be delighted!! 160000 people now looking for tickets for the Friday - Sunday night concerts I'd say0
