If they have not responded to the dispute then yes you can neg without a rating back in return. If they did respond then they are still able to leave feedback.

I don't understand why you wouldn't neg a npb and warn others.

Hey ho, not going to get into an argument about it.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • It was only won for 1p and i never do, whats to say they have had a computer problem/real life problem. Okay, so they could have a crisis or a problem with their computer. Or then again they could be wasting your time, out-bidding other people, costing you listing fees which you don't get back etc etc. If they have a genuine reason they could always e-mail at a later date letting you know and adding a follow up to your negative stating what happened so other people can read it and make their own judgements.
So what feedback do you leave? Please don't say positive or else what exactly is the point of feedback?
Before you all start jumping on me I don't always leave negative feedback for NPB. It depends if there is evidence of other activity on their account.

I really hate this sort of situation, person with nearly 400 feedbacks, 100% positive, wins my auction. No contact whatsoever. I don't want to leave negative feedback and spoil their 100% in case it is a genuine reason, but meanwhile, the tesco coupons that were in the auction go out of date in 4 days time. A total waste of my time and coupons :(

What is the point of leaving feedback at all if you don't neg a NPB?

One neg doesn't destroy someone's record but several points to a problem which is the whole point of the system. Keep it factual "No contact. Did not pay me" would be appropriate in this case.

I must say I disagree. I don't think it's using the feedback system correctly at all. If an eBayer can win an item and then not bother to pay or at the very least communicate with the seller then IMO they deserve negative feedback. This then will be a warning to others that will deal with them in the future.

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.
  • at the end of the day its my choice, i only posted this question for an answer relating to a dispute and the effect on my feedback, i will not get into an arguement ~ but some facts for you... the buyer has only 2 feedbacks (from dec 06) they brought my item and another set of items (interconnected) for a different seller... i have lost nothing offering it for sale...
