Can someone please advise me how to get rid of these?

They've started this morning - about half-postcard size - and arrive all over the screen, one at a time. There are also Speed up your Computer ones, less frequent.

I had just finished removing something called snap-on which had invaded.

They aren't present when I'm on mse though:-)

Thankyou in advance for any help.

I am now finding banner ads for computer geekery running on top of things I'm reading too.
Trying to remove them merely opens their pages.

Thankyou hop3y - google chrome, but I've now removed anything that showed itself installed with today's date. 4 things gone. But I now receive a google chrome ikon with msg to update. However, when I read that address, it has 'adserver....'something blahblah in it. which then shows as FLYMPlayer, V9, with a welcome to the 'set up wizard' inset. I am not clicking Next, which consents to installing v9 as i haven't a clue what that is. But there is no Cancel option, so i shall just have to go to the Remove/Change programs option to be rid of it, i suppose. Have to go out now but will try that later, given that the close option 'x'[top right corner]is not operational.

Download the extension AdBlock Pro. All your ads will go.

Why specifically Adblock Pro? Why not Adblock or Adblock Plus?
