I've finished my crocheted chicken – her feet and beak are a bit curly and I need to re-do the eyes (they make her look like a startled owl, lol) but I do love her

picture please

Hi everyone,
JO, good news about your DD and I'm glad you managed to enjoy your weekend away.
We had a lovely weekend apart from crocking my ankle, but it's not so bad now, just a bit swollen.
I haven't got a lot to say, I want to try and get myself back in gear with regard to the housework, which I've been doing very spasmodically lately. I really don't know how to get myself motivated for it any more, Flylady doesn't work for me but maybe I'll try my own flylady type list. It's not that the house is a shambles or filthy but thee are a few areas that need going over properly.
Have a good day.0 -
Just popped back to say ive just had a message from 'Youngest' he passed the exam he was so worried about.
He is now qualified for the next round in his training to be an electrician. So pleased about that. One more step to being totally independent.:TThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Goodness, it is nearly afternoon but never mind

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. My OH took the carpet up out of the bedroom on Saturday so things were moved from here to there and back again.
There was lots of dust and will no doubt be even more when he starts sanding down the floorboards. We will be taking up all the carpets throughout the house and varnishing the boards, which should then be easier to keep clean and dog hair free.
I need to try and sort out the freezers as there is a fair amount of unidentified food packages in there which we could do with using up.2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -

Morning all.
Dull here and a little on the chilly side. Been for a walk with my friend down by the river (as usual).
JackieO - glad your DD is home and recovering well.
Judi - Well done to your DS
Not much to report here. DS1 and his partner are moving into a place of their own today. They have been sharing a house with two others and have come to the point where they want their own space. I'm hoping Ds will be ok as they are hiring one of the Zippy vans and DS has to drive from Kingston to Harringay and back again, bearing in mind he hasn't driven for three years and certainly not through London!
Yoga tonight, so something lightish for dinner.0 -
Afternoon all,
Glad to hear that DD is home and recovering well, JackieO,
Dumpling, hope that OH is fit to go back to work.
Dinner today is fish (haddock and fish fingers needing to be used), carrots, leek, parsnip, onion and mash...I made soup with the rest of the veg in the bottom of the fridge....OH is in charge of dinner today so it will be ready soon.
Going to make my elderflower cordial later, nice and sunny today. If I can get at the gooseberries I might make some elderflower and gooseberry jam, as we all really like it.
Best wishes to those who are not well, take care.

Hello all,
Weather overcast now but it was quite sunny this morning.
Went to the Crem yesterday to take Dad some flowers. It was really busy with cars coming and going, but also looked really pretty and the rose beds were lovely. Dad was scattered on the Whiskey Mac rose bed and it was a picture yesterday.
Have quite a busy week because we are going on our holibobs on Saturday. Have to make sure DD has enough fresh food in so taking her shopping on Friday, have to pick up prescriptions because they run out half way through the holiday and want to keep up with the washing.
Jackie so pleased DD is recovering and glad you were able to enjoy your weekend. Of course you didn't worry about her
Judi congratulations to your Son, another step closer to his qualifications.
Lyn, Oh dear poor Docky, I am pleased you were both able to have a better night last night and he will be pleased to see his Daddy this afternoon.
Tru the chicken is gorgeous.
Himself is having home made pasta bolognese for tea and I am having jacket potato.
Good wishes and positive vibes to all poorlies.

Grey and rainy here today, but I still got DS planting out more seedlings, he said "Mum you have really gone a bit mad this year" :rotfl: but it is only because all the seeds took  I have lost three pepper plants to snails in the greenhouse though and they have been nibbling my other stuff as well

I need to sow some more lettuce and radish seeds later.
We had a busy weekend taking outlaws to the watermill, which they thoroughly enjoyed and then back to see FIL on Fathers day.
This Saturday (Summer Solstice) is "The Big Night Out" at the zoo which I am really looking forward to.
Then the nights will start drawing in again
JackieO I am glad to hear that DD is on the mend x
Healing vibes to Molly, Hilly and anyone else who needs them (((((Hugs)))) x xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
