Hi,
I know being accepted for an account depends on each persons circumstances. But doesnt First Direct have this reputation of only accepting people with a 'top notch' credit history?

im with first direct and "top notch" brings a warm satisfied glow to my heart!.When i applied they did phone my employer up(not aware of others doing this)
However, having credit cards, i assume , is the best for top notch credit history -and i can't recall having any at the time , neither was i a homeowner.
brilliant customer services but not competitive on intrest rates for savings0 -

First Direct introduced this months ago - and its very easy to avoid by opening a savings account with £1 in or getting their credit card. (If you have another FD product you are exempt from the charge)
