How to sell a bed?

Hi
My boyfriend is relocating from Hull in the next couple of weeks and needs to sell his bed. He doesn't drive so local collection-only would seem the best option. Does anyone have any suggestions of the best way to do this? I don't think that ebay is so good for such big items. He's advertised it in the local paper without too much luck so far.

You'd be suprised on Ebay. I sold a bed once, just wanted rid so listed for 1p. It went upto £44. Another option could be a car boot sale, and put a picture of it up (oh sorry no car!) How about post office/sainsbury's notice boards?0

I've sold things like our old Double Bed, Conservatory Furniture Set and a 2 Piece Settee - all went for not bad money.
Take plenty of pictures, be totally honest in the description and stress payment on collection - works a treat and you get a far greater audience than the local paper!
Good Luck !0 -
just be aware of your target market, and do not start the listing too low - it may sell with just the one bid!
Harsh as it sounds, I think there may be quite a busy market for household items in Hull though after the recent weather.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
