Bit ignorant about this, so forgive me. Re; orange phone SIM
Hubby bought a second hand windows phone for 30 quid off a mate at work, and put a £1.00 ORANGE SIM in it. He got £10 credit, and was given his new number, 400 free texts and so many gigs of data.
This was around 22 April. He got a text from ORANGE, 3 days ago, saying he needs to 'top up' as his month is nearly up.
Well he has been at work a lot this past few days, and didn't do it when the text came through (he was planning on doing it today when we went out.)
So today he gets a text from ORANGE, saying basically, he has missed the boat, and if he tops up now, it will cost him THIRTY POUNDS a month for the same 400 free texts and data!
Is this normal? And will it be the same for any phone network he uses?
Is it to make sure you DO spend the £10 a month and don't spend a tenner and try and make it last 2 months for example?
Bit sly I thought, as there was no warning that this would happen when they said his month is nearly up. (Unless it was in the TINY print!)

Looks like he is on the dolphin tariff.
You get a reward for topping up each month. He didn't top up, so won't get the "free" texts+data this month.
He needs to check the ts + cs, but should get them again next month if he tops up this month.
To keep getting the "free" texts and data you have to top up £10 every month (whether you used up the credit or not)0
