The best one-year fixed rates - jib

I've used THE BEST ONE-YEAR FIXED RATES tables for years and always found them accurate.

Now that Shawbrook is no longer a best buy (it was 1.95% but is going down to 1.7%) it has been replaced by Raphaels at 1.9% and Axis at 1.85% however if you go along to moneysupermarket.com it shows that Jordan International Bank (JIB) is the most competitive 1 year fixed rate deposit at 1.9%.

JIB is shown as a UK bank covered by the FSCS savings scheme so why doesn't it appear in the THE BEST ONE-YEAR FIXED RATES table rather than Axis at 1.85%????

It used to be a private bank. Perhaps they haven't noticed it has opened up to retail banking now. Also I believe the minimum is £20,000 so perhaps they thought that was too high to include.

The Islamic Bank of Britain also offers 1.9% (min £1000) but note it is "Sharia compliant" so is unable to guarantee that is the rate you will get.
