Friends bought a new build 18 months ago. Exactly the same house types being completed now are £100,000 more.0

Bluebeary - you refer to Inverness in the original post but in England& Wales everything tends to start with the local authority who decide on the road names/house numbering and everything else then flows from there. The electoral roll is the starting point for the council.
How long the processes take I do not know but once the development is ‘up and running’ then as to road/house number, Royal Mail will update as appropriate and third parties can then glean the info from them.“Official Company Representative

You can give your address descriptively in the meantime - I stayed at an apartment block in the UAE whose address was 'XYZ apartments, ABC Road (Facing Sea), Nearby Aquarium, <district name>'!!0

Crikey, my new build home I am moving into next month was not listed on Royal Mail. So Sky, EDF, British Gas, etc amongst everyone else say they can not find my house address on their systems to setup accounts.
The postcode is recognised up to so many houses but not all the way up to mine.
I emailed Royal Mail last night through their online address finder page and they added it by 3pm today.
