(Just need help with Question 6)

Think you’re a Mario Kart master? If so, IGN has a challenge for you, but for this race to the finish line you’ll need a sharp mind rather than red-hot driving skills. If you can correctly answer all eight Mario Kart questions on IGN’s competition page then you’re in with a chance of winning a Mario Kart 8 Bundle, which includes a Wii U premium pack, a copy of Mario Kart 8, an exclusive Wii U wheel, a Wii U gamepad protector, a game guide, a Wii Remote Plus and, last but not least, a Mario hat.

Three runners-up also walk away with a Bullet Bill t-shirt, a red shell key ring and a copy of the game. To enter head on over to IGN's Mario Kart 8 competition page.

You’ve got until 3pm BST 30 May 2014 to complete the questions, so get your engines running and good luck!

This competition is open to UK residents only. Entrants must be 18 years of age or over to enter. Please see the full terms and conditions on the competition page.

1. Super Mario Kart featured eight playable characters, but which one has not featured as a playable character in any of the Mario
Kart games since?

Koopa Troopa
Donkey Kong Jr.
Yoshi

I think the answer is Donkey Kong Jr. Yoshi appears in all the kart games, koopa troopa is in Mario Kart Wii, Donkey Kong is in most games but not Donkey Kong Jr.

2. Mario Kart 64 brought 3D graphics to the series, but what other feature did it also introduce?

Four-player split-screen
Kart-Jump
Bullet Bill power-up

Mario Kart 64 is the 2nd game in the 'Kart' Series, the first was only 2 player, whereas 64 is 4 player so I think "Four-player split-screen" must be the answer.

3. Mario Kart Super Circuit was the first handheld version of Mario Kart and it contained 20 tracks from Super Mario Kart, but how many new, unique race tracks did it also have?

20
17
11

Mario Kart: Super Circuit features twenty unique race tracks, as well as twenty more from Super Mario Kart for a grand total of forty.

4. Mario Kart Double Dash introduced 11 new characters to the series, what gameplay feature was exclusive to the game?

Time travel
Combine two power-ups
Two players in one kart

Again, not 100% but I think "Two players in one kart" from this...
LAN play – Double Dash!! also features LAN play using the Nintendo GameCube Broadband Adapter. Up to eight GameCube consoles can be connected, allowing for 16-player multiplayer races, with two players controlling each kart. Source

5. Mario Kart DS introduced dual-screen gaming to Mario Kart. The screen on the top was used to play while the touch screen on the bottom showed race-specific stats. What was just one of the things you were able to do through the touchscreen?

View incoming attacks
Deploy weapons
Order food

The bottom screen can be toggled to show either an overview of the entire course, or a bird's-eye view of the players kart and the immediate vicinity, including nearby racers, course hazards, item boxes, and incoming attacks.

6. Mario Kart Wii gave gamers three new features to play with, including motion control. Which of the below was NOT a new feature in Mario Kart Wii?

Race motorbikes
12-player races
Single-player races

I can't figure out the answer to this one, according to the wiki, all the answer are present in this game.

"participate in races or battles using karts or motorcycles"
"All modes support single-player gameplay"
"Versus and Battle modes are available and support up to twelve participants"

Not sure whether single player races and single player gameplay are two different things, maybe this would be the correct answer?

7. As well as being the first stereoscopic 3D game in the series, Mario Kart 7 was the first game to bring underwater racing and hang-gliding to the action. Three new items were also introduced: the Fire Flower, Lucky Seven and… what?

The Super Leaf
The Lightning Bolt
The Tortilla Glider

Mario Kart 7 also features three items new to the Mario Kart series: the Fire Flower, the Super Leaf, and the Lucky Seven

8. Mario Kart 8 is the first game in the series to feature HD graphics and anti-gravity areas, and also introduces Mario Kart TV which allows you to do what?

Upload and view highlight reels directly to YouTube and Miiverse
Watch endless re-runs of old TV shows
Enjoy ad breaks in the middle of your game

and players will also be able to upload highlights to YouTube
