Hi Guys,

Could someone advise me please? I was working at Aviva for 18 months and have £11,195 in a pension pot.

I would like to transfer this to continue contributing as i am working for myself now so my employer pension is no longer avialable.

I tried to do this with Aviva they told me i had to go through a financial advisor, F.A told me to go back to Aviva i don't need them !

This happened twice, as i was with aviva under 2 years i cannot stay in the scheme!

Could anyone advise how and where to transer this to , so i can keep contributing?

Many thanks

Your pension with Aviva is an occupational one. It you want to transfer it to another scheme then you have to contact the new scheme administrator/company and arrange to transfer with them.

If it is a defined benefit scheme then you need an FA to sign off on it. If it is a money purchase scheme then you do not. Although some schemes may still require it.

Who/what are you trying to transfer this pension to?
What type of pension is it?
