Grrr... Argos have my money - but no idea of delivery date!

Just after advice - where do I stand? I have had an order placed from Argos for over 6 weeks - the delivery date was booked in for today - and no delivery arrived! On ringing their customer services they said there is a stock problem - it won't be coming today - nor can they say when it can be delivered!!! They will refund me the delivery charge - but not my money unless I want to cancel the order!! I don't want to cancel the order - I've been waiting six weeks so far! Why should they have my money - and I have nothing - not even a confirmed delivery date. Is there some sort of customer protection under this circumstance? Any advice will be appreciated... I'm seriously frustrated...

    So you don't want a refund. As you want the order. Argos can't fulfill the order right now and ask you to wait.

    What exactly do you want Argos to do? Especially as they don't currently have it. What protection do you expect to get?

    Looks like Argos are in a no win situation here!

    Yes there is customer protection -
    - accept the refund they have offered and purchase elsewhere.
    - Let the keep the money and carry on waiting for a delivery date.

    Seems unclear what you actually want.

    Makes no sense, either wait or get a refund, what is it you want and what protection do you think you need?
