    I don't get this.

Do you stop vacuuming and doing the washing up after the buyers have viewed and had their offer accepted?

No. You continue to maintain the property in a reasonable way.

Why not have a gardener cut the lawn for you? Some have very reasonable hourly rates and they have petrol mowers if professional.

you are a model seller/house owner unlike me :) we havent cut it since late 2013! :(:(:(:(

Mine was cut this afternoon for the first time since about September 2013, will be short for about 6 months, and will then go back to 6 months of no maintanence again.

If selling, I'd cut it, though.

EmmaHerts I posted on Facebook over the weekend and several people tagged professional lawnspeople, none of whom could be bothered to return my messages :( I thought they might welcome extra business!

G_M fair point made! Up til now I've never been precious about the garden in the same way as the house hence my rather blas! view.

CK - yeah thats pretty much how I treat my lawn tbh.

I have been relaying all the votes back to OH, weather permitting we are off to the tool hire place on Sat :)

I will be a reasonable citizen and ensure it is no more than 10cm in height. :D

Just look in your local newspaper or the window of your local newsagent and make a phone-call.

The grass at our new house was too long for my flymo. So I paid a local retired farmer, who is now sort of a gardener, 9 quid and he mowed the lot ( it's a big garden). Took him 1 hour and it was a much better job than we would have done.

I dont think it's fair to leave it. When you move into a house you have so may other things to do without having to sort the lawn. So by the time they do it, underneath it will be horrible and yellow for the summer. Do the right thing :)
