Britannia/Co-Op savings account

Hello,
Despite all the furore surrounding the situation with the Co-Op bank, would it be foolish to open a savings account with them?
I have a sum of money (approx. £25k) that I would like to place into an easily accessible savings account and the Britannia(Co-Op) appears to offer the best 'clean' deal at the moment. (No pun intended!) at 1.5% and four withdrawals per year allowed.
Thanks.

Your money is safe up to £85,000 so no problems there
If you're motivated by the best deal for you, rather than ethics, probity or good governance, then I'd go for it0 -
I've recently opened the same account and so has my wife.Take my advice at your peril.0

I have recently reinvested a Fixed rate bond with Co-op bank, recent events do not cause me any concern over the safety of my money.0

Have you already maxed out the better options with current accounts paying 5%/4%/3%? No limits on withdrawals at all but you do need various accounts. Could always mix and match between the 2 to get the best return though.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Hi,
Thank you all for the prompt replies. In answer to the last post, yes, I do have one of the interest paying current accounts already.
Given the positive responses, I have posted my completed application this morning :T
Thank you again.0
