Ear piercing for adults?

Thinking of getting my ears pierced again, I just have the normal piercing but would like another further up each lobe, I'm just wondering whether it would be best to go to a proper tattooist/piercer or go to Claire's? I'm not a fan that Claire's will piece from 4 months  but figured that as they pierce ears all the time then it's a good option, any thoughts?

I only got mine pierced for the first time at 39!
I went to Claire's for exactly the reason you states. They are song it all the time. I had no problems, mind you after the shock of the first I nearly didn't get the second ear done!

Go to a proper piercing place. A 16 year old might be okay piercing the bottom fleshy part of the ear with a gun, but further up involved cartiledge which is harder to pierce.

It's still in the bottom bit of my ear, obviously if it was at the top or anything other than there then I'd go to a proper piercer, who knows I may get even more after this lol!

I looked into this a while back and decided never to let anyone near me with one of those gun things. A nice sharp, sterile needle seems kinder, and I have more confidence in it aiming exactly. A friend has rather lopsided ear piercings, which I wouldn't want. Apparently you can get better and easier to clean first earings with a needle too.

That said, I didn't get round to it at all, so who am I to talk.

Go to a proper piercing place - never get it done with a gun, they can cause a lot of problems, and they are literally shop girls/guys who do it. I'd always go to someone who is trained and certified.
  • Proper piercer every time. I had no end of problems with the 2 sets I had done with a piercing gun.
