When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of big "stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:

Think I posted today on yesterday's thread

Anyway, hope you are all having a good DFW weekend. I'm just taking a break from doing a jigsaw puzzle (dear dad gave me several dusty boxes of them last weekend - need to make sure they've got all the pieces before I flog em
). 0 -
I went to Homebase today and purchased a picket fence panel to replace a damaged one. So.....it didn't fit into the hatchback. What's a girl to do because I wanted it today and I aint paying delivery charges....so I carried it home. A 30 min walk and not one guy offered to help!!
Nailed it in place. Went back to collect my car.
Stained all the fence panels around my driveway.
Another exhausting but inexpensive and productive weekend.Dave Ramsey Fan[/COLOR]0 -
Hi all DFW people and Happy Easter
Today, Sunday we are visiting family and staying over night. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Wow Bublin1 I really admire your determination :T
I've had a "day off" today. Spent most of it on the (first) jigsaw and there is at least 6 pieces missing from that one (didn't bother with the sky). That was the smallest one (750 pieces) and now I have to decide if it's really worth tackling the 2000 piece ones....
Dear M&D are moving after 55 years in the same house so there's quite a lot of clearing out to do. There will be other things after the dusty jigsaws to tackle
Otherwise - not a DFW thing at all but we had a lovely roast dinner (first one since New Years Day so greatly appreciated). We were too full again to eat the Christmas pud - it will have to stay in reserves for now.
Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend.0 -
I've been making the most of the ebay free listing weekend and have listed 90 items. I'm moving abroad in October so trying to sell most things that I'm not taking with me. Its amazing how much clutter you accumulate over the years. Selling mostly clothing at the moment on the principle of if its not going in my suitcase then I probably don't need it!
I'm also checking out Amazon trade in and have found 5 books and a wii game that I can trade in for £70 of Amazon vouchers! Mostly text books that I don't need anymore. So overall a productive weekend!0
