I'm writing this for my boyfriend, because he's not very good with things like this! can't say I know alot , but I have got a pension I'm paying some money into. As far as I know he's got an army pension, and one with scottish widows and i think he could have another with someone else, but he hasn't payed into them for a while due to job problems, ie not being payed by an employer! but thats another story. ( that needs sorting out to) anyway I wanted to know what he has to do to get another, and if he can, can he transfer the others into that? I'm not sure how it works, I've had the same one for years and been paying every month. Thanks for reading this

From what you have written your boyfriend has a deferred pension from the Army? He doesn't need to do anything with this.

He has a personal pension with Scottish Widows and with another provider?
His current employer does not provide a pension scheme? He may have to soon https://www.gov.uk/workplace-pensions
Your boyfriend might benefit from the advice of an IFA who could look at his situation in the round.

You might both wish to obtain a state pension statement. http://www.unbiased.co.uk/pensions

Thank you very much for all your help and taking the time to give me all the information  . I will have a look at all the links and also show my boyfriend, especially that his employer might have to provide a pension scheme soon, I didn't know that. Thank you again
