Late payment - fees refunded

Hi
I was wondering if anyone can help clarify something for me.
I am in the process of trying to move, I have an existing mortgage, which is in its fifth year. So will be applying for a new mortgage.
I have never missed a mortgage payment. I have no other debts.
I normally pay my credit card off in one go each month, However, I have missed a couple of payments on my credit card because I did not receive the bill and so forgot to pay it. I then rang up the company when I received the next bill and they agreed to refund fee. They now also text me to remind it is due, even if it does get lost In the post.
If the late fee is refunded does this still affect your credit score?
Many thanks for any advice

You don't have a credit score.
Yes, late payments will likely be recorded on your credit file even with a refund as it is your responsibility to pay and to know when payment is due.. You should get your £2 statutory reports to see what's on there.0 -

Thanks, that's what I thought. It's just frustrating that I missed a couple and otherwise am debt free.
I Thought that if I checked my credit this may also affect my mortgage application?0 -
On the contrary. You should definitely check your Experian and Equifax statutory report data at least 6 months prior to applying so you csn ensure that the data reported is accurate and to give you time to contest anything that is wrong.0

Done... It all looks okay to me, no surprises! I think it was just last minute panicking.
However, I have taken you advice on board and will make sure I check this more often. Thanks
