Do networks charge for RECEIVING text messages while abroad?!

In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice0 -
At present they are free.
Its Picture and MMS messages you want to watch.
They are downloaded using GPRS. The mobile networks don't charge for download costs for receiving them but they have to absorb the cost when you are roaming and receive one.
I expect this will change but they will need to update there billing systems first to track the download associated with it.
