Eating and drinking in Watford ?

We are going to Harry Potter this Sunday and are stopping in Watford Central Travelodge overnight tomorrow.Could anybody recommend anywhere reasonable to eat for a family in the evening ?
Maybe also somewhere we could buy food to take into HP , a local supermarket maybe ?
Also as we are booked into the Central travelodge and that Watford are playing at home tomorrow , would anybody have any ideas for the best place to park ? ie from about 4pm to preferably overnight.I understand there is a couple of car parks nearby but wondered how it was during the football.

Sorry if there is a lot of questions :o

Thanks for any replies :money:

There's a big Tesco Extra in Watford.

    See here: http://www.tesco.com/store-locator/uk/?bID=3372

Of course, there's a Sainsburys and Asda there too.

Parking is a bit of a nightmare round there (Esp on match days) and quite expensive. KO for the Watford Match is 3pm so 4pm wouldn't be a bad time to arrive. On the travel lodge website it suggests one that's quite cheap (I'm not familiar with it but would try that) http://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/320/Watford-Central-hotel

Re eating there is a Sainsburys not far from the Travelodge for you to get bits from or a mini Tesco the other end of the high street.

Watford is full of chain restaurants that you could use vouchers in, Ask, Pizza Express, Carluccios, Wagamama, etc all with in walking distance of your hotel.
    Non Chain
    - L'artista is cheap and food is nice but they pack people in.
    - Bar Bodega - Bar that serves food, great atmosphere but a bit pricey.
    - Tarboush is a Lebanese place very relaxed, nice food but best to order individual items rather than set menu.

    Hope that helps

As above poster says Watford High Street is so packed with places to eat you will be spoilt for choice. The Travelodge is about 5 minutes walk from the High street. For packed lunches for the Sunday there are two Subways who do a subway and drink for £3 (extra 30p for a bottled drink) and kids meal includes a cookie or crisps. You have Boots who do a meal deal a sandwich snack and drink. Tesco Express. Marks and Spencers Food, Sainsburys, Greggs Bakery who do sandwiches, pastry snacks etc and Wenzells who do the same.
