Migrated to ESA - Do I Need to Tell HB/Tax Credits?

Hello.
I've been migrated from IS to ESA support group and the amount of money I get is still the same. The letter says that my ESA will start from 20th March.
Are HB and CTC told automatically, or do I need to let them know? My income is still the exact same so not sure what I need to do.
Thank you.

Don't rely on departments to talk to each other. Any letter you receive from them, does tell you that you need to tell them about any changes.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Thanks guys. Just wish there was a way to do it online. I'm unable to communicate using the phone.

No, I don't. I just usually do everything in writing, but I've never had to submit a change of circumstances for Tax Credits or HB so wasn't sure if I could write to them instead. x2019 Wins

They are nor 'departments' of the same body. Esa is administered by the dwp, a government body. Housing benefit by your local council ... A totally seperate body.
Having said that .. My local council do get automatic data notifications from the dwp (and hmrc) that SOMETHING has changed...they then suspend the housing benefit automatically and then they get looked at by the housing benefits assessor who look at the dwp systems to see what has changed and update the housing benefit systems accordingly.
We are lucky in that our housing benefit assesors have drop ins so you can go and get it sorted pronto.
With you not being able to use phones wonder if your council run something similar.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

Thanks guys. I'll complete that form now as it would be very beneficial.
Do you know if my Tax Credits will be suspended after I notify them of the change to ESA?
Thank you.2019 Wins

Your tax credits will be a joint claim so either of you can ring. I always do ours even when the change was with my husbands income.Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0
