OH refused JSA

I have been getting JSA since October. I also get housing benefit and help towards council tax.
OH wasn't living with me but has recently moved back. He is not working and we filled in the forms to add him to my claim on 3rd Feb. On 19th Feb he saw an adviser at the Job Centre and then on 24th Feb we received a letter saying he was eligible for JSA and had been added to my claim and that we would get our joint payment on 8th March.
Today he has received a letter saying he is not entitled to anything because he does not have the necessary NI contributions.
So my questions are, firstly why was he told 3 days ago he was entitled and secondly why is he not entitled based on income? Quite how 2 of us are meant to manage on £71 a week when some of it has to pay our rent as the housing benefit is so low I don't know

Is that not possibly a standard letter thats sent out to say he wont get contribution based JSA but he will get income based?
Id phone them rather than spend time asking on here, get him to call them.0 -

PaulineB you are so illiterate  what was your degree's in again?
Is that possibly just a standard letter that is sent out to say he won't get contribution based JSA, but will receive income based instead?
I'd phone them rather than spending time asking on here. Get him to call them instead.
At least she knows how to use the "Quote" function. :rotfl: and your's is hardly 100% correct.0 -
Perhaps stalker boy should go back and have a look at some of their own posts before judging mine.
Bless.
Sorry OP that your thread has been derailed with someone who seems to think he should be on university challenge.0 -
I appear to have an unhinged stalker following me around the boards, obviously what passes for entertainment in their world.
The mods/admin just removed all of their threads and posts and two minutes later they are back.
Seriously, get a life. You really are unhinged and it's not just me who shares that view.0 -
Anyway OP. I hope you get the matter resolved. As these boards seem to have been taken over by someone who has just had all their threads removed and has been PPRd but is back with a username almost identical to mine, I'm logging off and leaving them to their childish games.0
