Does anyone know if any supplier offers a service with a 6 month term or better no contracted term?

PLusnet and Zen do a 1 month contract AFAIK.
Go here and put the contract length to 6 months or less. It'll generate a list of them.

I have virgin broadband, it costs 14.99 month and has a 1 month contract.
Only 1.1mbps, but ideal if you're not downloading lots0 -
Phoned Virgin and they said they no longer do short/no contract. Also be aware that PlusNet/ Zen have either set up charge or fee if end contract before 1 year!0

Hi
See this comparison table - it shows that Plusnet does 1 month contract for £9.99 and Namesco for £11.95, there are a few more but the price goes up. I have Plusnet and can recommend them definately.
Just had a look at the table and Namesco do a £14.95 deal which looks to have free hardware and setup and the 1 month minimum contract... see here - there must be some T&C to stop people just registering for a month just for the hardware though0 -
I have Plusnet and can recommend them definately.
Ah they do have one satisfied customer then.
They are sh*t beyond belief - their forums are literally awash with unhappy and leaving customers - dont even think about it
I was with them for about 5/6 years - early days they were superb but things went very, very much downhill so I jumped ship.
Sadly my current ISP has done the same so I need to source a new one as well
Please though do yourselves a favour don't consider plusnet for a nano secondHate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing

Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -
Hi
I've never had a single problem with plusnet (touch wood) and I am still satified with the product I receive. I have been with them for 3 years now and in that time I have never had cause to use their customer service... so I may have been sheltered from this aspect of their set up.0 -

You demonstrate nicely how different people have different experiences with the same ISP and it's a good point.
Allow me to elaborate.
Comparisons from early days to as I was leaving them:
I need to call +net for a support issues-
early days I ring a local (geographical number) it generally takes from 35-120 SECONDS to get answered , never more than 3 minutes.
before I left them - last two times I called them 30 and 37 minutes on hold - now sadly their former outstanding performance throws the poor into sharp perspective.
They display a general don't care attitude. As I said in my last post their forums are filled with complaints, unhappy punters and people stating their requesting their MACs to get away - have you perused their forums LittleC ? Might be an eye opener if you haven't.
Additional issues have been - 2/3/4 times there were periods when their email server was down and people didn't get their emails for over 24 hours and I think some vanished into the ether, slow speeds and I read the other day on the forums and there seems to be an issue occurred where members email addresses have been disclosed (not sure where, how etc) and people are furious about it including some seeking to establish if they can take legal action.
Also plusnets own response to their customers unhappiness ? - They posted in their own forums that these people should stop complaining !!!!!! Also their top man was also quoted somewhere as saying the same thing !!!!
As I said originally save yourselves some grief and if you're considering them ...dont.
Real shame mind as when I 1st joined them they were superbHate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
