Hi all,
Hoping someone can help. I've been off for over 9 months and therefore not earning any money at the moment. I am allowed to do a few hours a week private tutoring at get in a bit of extra money before going back to full time teaching?

Can you not just go back to work? You don't have to have a full year offDon't Panic - and carry a towel

Depends what your contract says about other employment. After all, even on mat leave you're still employed. You don't have the pay issue now as SMP has finished.*** Thank you for your consideration ***0

Could use the accrued holiday to replace income.
Any other work has to be done on a self employed basis,
do you want to go through that process?0 -
if you are a teacher have you done your keeping in touch days - you can be paid for 10 days work - either individual or a block.
Will make it easier for when you go back too.0 -
I'm a full time teacher and do tutoring "on the side". It's not huge sums of cash, but enough to make a difference on a single-person income.Because it's fun to have money!

You can continue any self employed work during statutory maternity leave.
You can't do this if you are in receipt of maternity allowance from the government.
As stated above make sure there are no restrictions in your contract of employment (unlikely being a teacher)0
