Thanks Ang

yeah - but no -but . . .

am only a 2nd year gardener, and have been looking forward to these plants for a long time, I want to keep and save them if poss.

Had a look at the t&c's and they say . . .' that we will replace it with anything of your choice to the same value or refund the product in full. ' etc etc
Phoned them anon this am., and they already have none left.
but I want black bamboo ! Stamp stamp

Sounds a bit pedantic, but I missed out on this offer Jan 2006, and don't want to wait another year - the offer was buy two, at a tenner each, and get one free.

Any ideas out there on saving them ?

Sending them back is the last resort.

I have that variety, give it some feed, a little sun and it will take over the world.....well not quite but its a vigorous grower in my South facing garden. Goes very well with bananas - not to eat obviously :)
  • thanks alanobrien

do they need a prune ?

do you reckon restrict the roots then ?

    Cheers

Prune...i have to beat it with a stick to keep it in line

Yes, personally from experience i would restrict the roots in all varieties other than dwarf types.

I have taken small shoots of this bamboo literally thrown it in a container with some compost and up it comes. Its good in pots to hide ugly drainpipes and the like....and our friends get lots of it from us free whether they want it or not :D
  • Thanks AlanObrien

    some hope of revival then

    have a great w/e

will watch F1 (cry over Ferrari), hava wine and sort the bamboo
