Parking on the outskirts of London from Plymouth direction

Hello,
I plan on driving to London from Plymouth in August and am hoping to park my car on the outskirts, on a tube line. I am staying close to both Angel St station and the Highbury & Islington station in central London. Therefore, as I am one of a family of four,I would also like the train journey in to be as easy as possible ... bearing in mind I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old! ... little legs!
Any help would be appreciated ... we're coming from Ireland and are totally green!!
Thanks in advance.

Islington is not really that central. I would drive there.

Hello. Good luck! Will you want a car park or just a residential street? For the latter, it might be a struggle to find one without parking restrictions.

Anyway, I'd be tempted to come into London on the A303/M3/M25/A3 then park near South Wimbledon tube station (turn off the A3 to get the A298 towards Wimbledon), then you can grab a Northern line train straight up to Angel.

Your solution will be influenced by how long you are thinking of leaving your car outside central London.

Are you going to a hotel? - or staying with friends?

I often have to visit briefly offices in central London on my way between Dover and Aberdeen.

I have long since stopped driving into the middle of London, no matter how simple the locals tell me it is.

I very rarely go much 'inside' the M25 these days.

I have tried all sorts of things - parking a Heathrow or Gatwick gives easy connections.

I have parked up at a supermarket, a large car dealer, a cemetery and a park in and around Croydon, and taken a train from Waddon or Carshalton to London Victoria Station.

With small children you only want to be changing trains/tube as few times as possible.

People who live within the ring of the M25 may laugh, but to me it's stress I don't need.

What gets to me is the impatience of other drivers who are running the same routes day in and day out, and who do not make enough allowance for those who may not be so familiar with the route they are following.

    Richmond can be handy.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
