Reinstating benefit claim

My friend's benefit, I assume ESA, wasn't paid on Friday. It appears that the DWP wrote to her a short while ago to say they had not received her sick note and would terminate her claim. However, my friend got confused (confusion is part of her ill health) and, as she had previously sent in the sick note, (which imagine DWP has somehow lost) assumed she didn't need to do anything.

So what happens now? She may be able to get a duplicate sick note on Monday. Will she be able to get an appointment with the DWP and get her claim reinstated on the same day? Or at the very least will the DWP be able to make here some sort of emergency payment on Monday?

Failing that, and bearing in mind my friend is in really desperate straits, how would she go about getting a ticket for a food bank?

  • You need a voucher which I think can be obtained from CAB, or any other similar Welfare advisory service, social Services. Possibly even a GP?

Would think a call to your local council would confirm details of where to go and what info is needed to be given one. .

Hopefully someone else can confirm more for you. .
