Self assessment and private mileage

Hi all,

I was wondering if any one could help me please?

Im currently filling in my self assessment tax return for 2012 - 2013 and was wondering where i enter my business mileage?

I invoiced a total of 15,200 last year and paid out 17,142 on expenses. I also travelled 17118 private miles but was wondering where i enter the miles? I entered it in my expenses but when i completed the return it advised that i didnt have anything to claim back - i thought i would have been entitled to claim some back - as i did last year.

Could any one please assist?

Presuming you are filling in the short tax return - it would go in the box for motoring expenses.
