Halifax Mortgage Approved FTB

Hi There.
I hope someone can help me as I'm feeling a little anxious about my mortgage after reading other threads on here (self confessed worry-aholic)
My fiance and I went through full application at the Halifax on Monday and were approved on an A pass, handed over our 1 payslip and proof of address there and then and paid for our valuation. Q1. Does anyone know what an A pass means? I'm assuming it is good as it was in my school days.
I'm a little concerned though as far as I can see there has been no credit checks done on my experian, equifax or call credit?
The information we gave was all correct so I'm assuming if they have approved us on this there is nothing to worry about. (obviously we gave general answer e.g. Q: what is your credit card balance A: about £2500 instead of £2617.37)
I'm just panicy that if they haven't credit searched us then how can they approve our mortgage, and if we are not fully approved then why were we told this at the bank, and why have I handed over £550 for a survey?
Does it normally take a while for searches to show on your file?
A.K.A should i be buying a new kettle?
Thanks all, and apologies in advance for being an annoying FTB!!

You are worrying over nothing.
Halifax credit search will show as Bank Of Scotland and can take a couple of days to show.
