These are all fab suggestions. When my kids were young we stayed in caravans in Aberaeron every year. Lots to do very scenic. Pembrokeshire and the coastal path are great, and so is heading east from there to Tenby and the Gower. North Wales is more rugged, but lovely seaside towns.
But for a different suggestion how about staying in Cardiff? Loads to see and do including techniquest, the doctor who exhibition, the bbc studios. There's beaches within 10 minutes drive at Penarth, and you can travel a bit further to Barry and Porthcawl. Even the Gower is only an hour or so away. You've also got easy access to the beacons national park. And the advantage is a couple of travelodge choices."I AM DEATH, NOT TAXES. I TURN UP ONLY ONCE."- Terry Pratchett0
