Vodafone Ripped me Out off Data Charges!

Hi,
My first post so hope you can help. I have a SIM only deal with Vodafone, where I have been using my phone for tethering (internet) as I dont have broadband at home. I used to get a message (only once) saying that I am coming close to my limit and that I will be charged x amount for the next 250M of data. I used to ignore this and unfortunately did not have my online banking card to check my balances. I just checked last week and it seems that Vodafone have been charging me £80 - £100 per month, where the basic allowance is £15!
If i continued to go over 250mb and another 250 MB, i was not contacted with a text with this information, i would have made some actions.
I should have noticed this but didn't, should Vodafone not have contacted me regarding this excessive amount i was charged? Im not sure if I can claim this, but it could amount to over £500.
Any advice much appreciated.

The whole system of bundles is flawed. Ask Vodafone to recalculate your bill, retrospectively applying the most suitable data bundles for your usage. In future, monitor your usage more carefully using data counters in your own devices.0

So are Vodafone charging you the correct amount under your contract for what you used?0

I would never use my phone for tethering if my contract was only for 250mb!0

how can you notice that you have gone that far over a very very low use tarriff.
only chance you have is to ring them and see if theres anything they can do to help you as they havent actually done anything wrong.0 -
I pay x pence for a certain amount of data daily .
If i go over that then the charges are very high pro rata .
Thats the tariff what i signed up to and i don't expect the network to start banging on my door if i do go over the tariff limit as its my own fault .0 -
Why is it so unreasonable that the OP expects to pay approximately the same rate pro-rata for out-of-bundle usage as for in-bundle usage? Most businesses give volume discounts, yet the mobile networks do the opposite, only in order to catch people out; this is unreasonable.0

Because the OP agreed to pay a different rate. Why is it so unreasonable that the OP expects to pay approximately the same rate pro-rata for out-of-bundle usage as for in-bundle usage? It seems they also don't bother to check their monthly bills - which come out before the direct debit.0

You should make it clear that Vodafone are under no obligation to do this and that it is only as a gesture of good will they would offer it.The whole system of bundles is flawed. Ask Vodafone to recalculate your bill, retrospectively applying the most suitable data bundles for your usage. In future, monitor your usage more carefully using data counters in your own devices.
Whether you feel the current process is flawed or not, or whether it is flawed or not, it is still worth noting that the OP has agreed to the current rates they are being charged and can be held liable as such.0
