does anyone have any spare strawberry runners that they could spare? New to gardening, and would love some strawberries. I have 5 alpine (wild or devon?) plants but would love some earlier fruiting plants (which should be giving runners just about now.

Willing to pay postage or swap for veggie seeds.

Would be very grateful

Louise

I bought some alpine strawberries from ebay, but they have been sending out runners. Now I'm confused because I thought Alpines didn't have runners, the fruit was small in size too. Anyway, I'm sure I'll have a couple of nice mini plants soon. So if you would like more of these, I'd happily RAK them to you :)

jim...dont cut the runners off now, you need to let them root, they do it themselves or you can aid them by pinning them into the soil with a wire clip, wait till a few leaves have formed, then cut from parent plants.
Louise i will have loads of spare plants in the next few weeks, if you drop me a pm i will gladly post you some, already posted a few lots out earlier this year for fellow MSE members.

I have loads of runners from my 2 plants in pots. I have to get them to root first, but it shouldn't take long. You are more than welcome to have some.
