Painting room. Only one newly plastered wall

Hi,

We had our chimney breast replastered and I have read up about how I need mist coats etc. I will be using Dulux Trade Matt Vinyl to do this.

So I know what I am doing with that area. The question is I will be repainting the whole room. The current colour is a wheat colour so not dark at all. Will it be okay to paint the chimney breast white and then use the paint colour I want to paint all walls? Will it show various shades between the chimney breast and other walls?

My mind tells me it will be fine as the walls will receive 2 top coats of my final chosen colour white will be a very light white/grey.

Thanks for any advice.
